This is Mar503C a studio flat in the heart of Nottingham.
When we first started working on this project we really wanted to create an amazing user experience that would consequently not only uplift the tenants way of living in this property but generate an increase it’s current property ROI.
Concept
this property is a 1 bed studio flat that has great double height ceiling voids. This feature made think about Luis Barragan's work & the use of contrasting colour as the main concept for the interiors. La Casa concept was born!
Inspiration
once concept was decided the we strarted developing the concept by looking for images that relate to the concept. These images were of lifestyle, furniture, room settings, art; this helped us determine the look & style of the interiors that tenants would be living in and extract a more comprehensive colour palette.
Tonalities
the exterior exposed rich brick wall that this building has set the main tone of the colour scheme and the yummy colourful Mexican food provided me with all complementary finishes tones.
Details
the colour palette was then applied to the hard finishes selections (floors & walls) and extended to the loose elements such as furniture, decorative lighting, cushions, rugs, art and accessories
Implementation
so that nothing was missed we created a set of technical drawings & specifications for the builder. This comprehensive set of information allowed the builder to understand the interior design vision, speed up the refurb, decrease potential misunderstandings & everyone knew what they needed to do!
